Candid photography: the art of visual storytelling in an unobtrusive way. Real moments are captured raw--no posing for the camera. The viewer should be able to come up with their own story by seeing and feeling what's going on in the subject's natural environment.
The key to candid portraiture and street photography (my style) is having the camera ready for action. Before hitting the shutter, it’s a must to have my camera dialed-in to capture the right scene. Once this happens, I look for moments to capture that has movement, conversations, thought provoking body language, colors and backgrounds–essential for good visual storytelling.
“Photography: My ability to see a moment and capture it before it goes away forever.”

Technique: The use of a good telephoto lens helps me maintain a good distance from my subject allowing me to capture those tender moments I see in conversations, laughter and movement. Anticipation is another key aspect of shooting candids. I am mindful of how people interact with one another, who’s the serious one, who is the life of the party, who has striking features and posture.
